Thinking about a Samsung S4 Active - Your thoughts? (Iphone bashing inside)
I'm 29 years old.
I've been rocking a Samsung slide phone for the last 6 years. I love it. It makes calls and gets text messages and THAT's it! But all my contacts are backed up on the Tmobile website AND if I break it, it is $40.00 to replace. Truthfully, I've gone though 5 or 6 of these phones. But it's time for me to buy a smart phone. I bought an Ipad to "prepare" myself for the smartphone world, but honestly, I hated it. I spent some time messing about with the S4 phone and the S4 notepad thing in the AT&T store and I think I like it. 1. It looks like file transfers from my PC to phone will be easier. This was not the case with my Ipad. 2. It looks like all the best iphone apps are available with the S4. Manheim auction apps, tinder, facebook, et. 3. USB connection! YES! 4. The entire platform just seems easier and more natural to use. Anyone want to tell me why another phone is better?

funny, i went from 5 yrs of iphones to a prepaid iphone 3gs (no data plan) and don't miss it one bit. i hardly even use the wifi internet. not a tablet guy here either... if i'm surfing the web i want a real computer (i.e. laptop or desktop)
i don't think any voice/data contract is worthwhile... at the most i'd get one of those $50/month prepaid voice/data plans paired with an older android phone |

How does Tmobile compare to AT&T? Is AT&T worth the extra money?

I can't believe you just placed Tinder into a "best apps" category.

I love my S4. If they had the active out when I got it, I probably would have gotten it. But yea, the S4 is sweet.

I like the S4 Active. I have a Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro (same durable style), and I love it. I'm pretty reckless with my phones, and the fact that it is waterproof (I have submerged it in water countless times with no faults), its dust proof, scratch resistant screen, etc. The interface is more than enough for what I need a phone for, basically just making phone calls, sending texts, and checking my emails for work. To me an Iphone is pointless, it gets outdated every year and is for brand heads.

Went from iPhone 5 to S4 active two week ago. iPhone 5 interface is def. better and way smoother than S4 active. But S4's bigger screen serves like a mini tablet. In the end, I would love an iPhone with S4's speed and screen.

this makes the gs4 sound like a buggy phone which its not. its not ios buttery smooth but it aint bad neither. last iphone i had was the 4, went to htc dna and loved it till it got water damage, now i have the gs4 and this phone is just insane.

Actually, after doing more research, I'm thinking of going for the S4 mini. I just can't find any info on US carriers yet.
And TINDER is available for the S4. I downloaded it through the play store while I was in the AT&T store playing with the phones. Never underestimate the importance of flirting with desperate girls.
