whenever someone throws me that comment, I say "damn right not everyone can... and that makes me feel good"
Haters trying to make you feel bad for having more $$$ than them. They make do with what they have, you make do with what you have. Don't live on anyone's standards but your own.

It's only a BMW. Great car. Getting one.
But it is not exactly the most amazing thing in the world. Somewhere on a TVR forum there is going to be someone complaining about an arrogant douche in BMW who thought he was top dog. |

totally know what you're talking about, i always point out ricers and crappy drivers and i get a smiliar response from my friends, it's really not about what car I'M DRIVING it's about them being horrible drivers/ricing out their cars
to clarify i'm not saying i'm better in a bmw, i would make teh same comments in any car i was driving even if i saw a riced out lambo i would say the same shit if i was in my 328i and saw a riced out civic

Hmm, anyways, at work some people don't quite know what I drive and when they do they say I'm ballin'. Today I was talking to my supervisor and he was going on about his Maxima and how it has all these features and thensome and it cost less than my 328i, I said that's all good but a BMW is a BMW for a reason and a Nissan is what it is. His son, he told me, said he doesn't get how a 3 Series(F30 4L) is slower that his Civic(riced), he said it's not a sports car which I laughed at(he's only 16). Some people don't get that BMWs are largely cars to drive, not to ride in. I had to explain that the BMW bug bit when I drove my uncle's E46 as a kid and set out to make it happen for me, nobody hops in a Nissan(sans GTR) as a kid and say the same thing.

Where I come from (vancouver bc, hong kong, and china) saying something like "not everyone can drive a BMW like you" would probably be leaning towards an insult more than a hater remark. BMW is becoming such a common car that there's really nothing special about it anymore nor is it even that expensive compared to others. The market has changed and baller cars are becoming more baller and our beloved brand is becoming cheaper in brand value IMO.
To the remark above about Nissan's, yeah the guy is right about a maxima having more features and he did get it cheaper. I've been driving a Murano for the past 3 years, put over 80k kms on it and its freakin awesome, love every bit of it and satisfies all my needs for an SUV best bang for the buck. Did i really need to pay a lot more for an X5, ML, Touraeg, Cayenne etc? I like it so much I'm moving into an Infiniti FX next month because I found a new love with Japanese cars. Most people get a (mostly german) brand name car just because of the badge and what it seems to represent. I've been driving BMW's for 15 years now and i'm honestly saying that the real value of what BMW use to represent is long gone but it sure is great for their bottom line since every soccer mom can get in one without problems. I guess im venting a little about how this brand has changed and gone soft. I guess im just old fashioned and still stuck in the E36 era, but that era is what made me love this brand. Remember those 240hp ///M machines? That's something to be proud of. You're now telling me the the car's insulation is too good that we need speakers to hear the goddamn V8 twin turbo engine? Kinda childish, no? Sorry if I've pissed off some people or have put down BMW's. I'm still driving one but I seriously can't say that I like it more than a stupid looking murano. Sorry murano owners too.

Sounds like you insulted some random guy..
Doesn't matter if his cars a laughing stock or not, keep it to yourself. And yes, not everyone can drive a BMW like you.
