Strange sound anomaly, on-board audio
I have a Gigabyte p55a ud3 mobo using on board audio. I'm having the weirdest freakin problem and I can't find anything even resembling it, online. Strange things will cause the sound card to fail, and no sound will work until the computer is restarted.
At first I thought I was losing my mind, but it's really weird stuff that causes the sound to stop. For instance if I turn on the light to my closet [just one fluorescent] , or if my metal computer chair touches my metal desk. Obviously it's an electrical issue, but I have no idea how to solve this. I've already tried installing new sound drivers to no avail. Guess I could buy a sound card, but I don't use my PC to listen to much music that would benefit from it. And I don't want to replace the mobo until I'm ready to upgrade CPU. Any ideas?
