Considered the S4 before finding my 1M. When I test drove it I just wasn't all that impressed, and I was totally disgusted with the treatment I received at the local dealership. I love the way they look. Granted I was comparing it to an M3 cometition with dct, so not really a fair fight.
My brother bought a TTRS, thing is a beast. Audi is kicking ass right now. |

Whoa easy! "LOST their step with the f30" just wait for the m3 to come out to judge that car. S4- Nice car but will never be an m3 that it wants to be! Sorry.

Beautiful car! Your car can use big wheels, generally we recommend running 19x9.5's all around.

I replaced my 1er with a 2010 S4 and like it quite a bit. It's phantom black pearl with magma (red) leather interior with the ADS, Sport Diff, carbon interior, MMI, and B&O. My biggest gripe is with the MMI. I know yours is heavily revised but the 2010 system is shit. Sat reception blows and the system is really slow and much less intuitive compared to the iDrive. That aside, the car is really well done. I'm very impressed with the power delivery and the ADS is a great feature to have when you mix twisty roads and a bumpy commute.

I have had no trouble with sat. nav reception, even up in the Sierras where the car spends half of its time (basically between Tahoe and the Bay Area). The sat. radio reception could be better, it comes and goes in the mountains, I have not driven the wifes x5 with the sat radio playing on the same roads for comparison. |

Yeah I was referring to the SiriusXM reception. I lose it under every bridge, under heavy trees, and next to hills. Never had this issue during the same commute with the 1er.

After 4600 miles, nothing shocking to report, seats a still awesome. Fuel economy has been very good very high 20s and low 30s (the car is almost exclusively driven on the highway)
I have not had the car on a track yet, but the car is very neutral and stable at any speed I have tossed it around at. It does lack steering feel, but I do like the weight of the steering at speed on dynamic mode. The car goes right where you point it, but it is definitely a little isolated. Quattro got me up my snow covered driveway without trouble, by no means a test, but the winter is young. The car has two annoying rattles, on is the trim that goes around the mmi screen, it stops when I touch it. The other is coming from the back seat, I suspect the folding rear seats are involved. It has not been back to the dealer yet, so they have not had the opportunities to fix it yet, but it will go in this month. The paint quality, and panel fit are better then any BMW I have owned, I am happy and sad to say. |

MSM, I have a pretty similar review after about 4k. Rattles are the only really gripe as four months of the slow, shitty MMI has basically desensitized me to its laggy interface. Otherwise the car is great. I used to complain about the exhaust being much too quiet but AWE fixed that issue right up and now it sounds like a Lamborghini. I love it.
