Had my friends M3 for the weekend

My buddy leant me his Jeep to save me a little rental cash. He then gave me his 2005 M3 conv when his kid needed the Jeep. I have a Proceeded 335 coupe. My impressions.....

Love the sound of the M3 ... awesome. It just screams in sport mode when you get past 4k rpms.

The handling seems to be a little tighter than the 335, even though I had it lowered.

The steering on the 335 seems a little more predictable, interstingly. M3 seems oversensitive at higher speeds.

Acceleration hands down to the Proceed 335. Mine dyno'd at 327rwhp so it is to be expected. It was not even close. v2 will be sick.

The SMG on the M3 had significant pauses during shifting. Step on 335 is more seemless. Although SMG seems more like a sports car. Tossup here.

I got a lot of looks in the m3 conv. More than 335, but maybe because Im so good lookin.

I gotta tell you .. the sound and handling of the M3 was awesome. The speed and autonomy of the Proceed is a plus.

Overall, I think I would go with the M3 conv if i had a choice foor the same amount of money brand new. Sure, things are more refined on the 335. But the engine noise and rawness of the M3 reminds me of my 88 911.

Power is great, but there is more to a car than that.

I saw an E46M3 tonight and I thought it looked great.

Very nice car, unless you get it in puke yellow mustard...

Dallas...
Put yourself in the Dodge truck with large muddy tires, and you will get all the looks in the world...

The verts are noticably slower than the coupes...I drover them multiple times back to back and you definitely feel it. My first E46 M3 was an SMG car and I couldn't stand it...I also had an SMGIII E60 M5 and it was an improvement but I'll take my 3 pedals thanks.

I believe the E92 M3 will be a vast improvement over the E46 M3. However, one cannot deny that a PROcede 335i is a HUGE bang for your buck in comparison!
