Smile SPEED: Born On The Nurburgring ~ Watch It?

do you guys watch the show on speed on nurburgring? saw it today and it was on bmws. showed the m5 taxi for like 580 something currency and how the m division and all of their cars have to go through their track. bmw even has a simulator of nurburgring which they use to test out their suspension. i can see why it is called the ultimate track now. this one place got everything but is ultimately testing suspension. the show narrator even said that the cars are really pushed to the limit here and some breaking down after 4 laps.

comes to show how bmw gives consumers high quality cars. tested and proven. wonder if benz is this extensive as well as porsche.:rocks:

Every manufacturer putting out a sports car worth its beans now tests on the Nurburgring. You always see spy photo shots of cars (from all manufacturers) testing their car on the 'ring.

Hell...even the Corvette designers test on the 'ring.

Commercial aspects

Because of its demanding layout, the Nordschleife is used by many auto manufacturers as a proving ground for car prototypes. Some of the most notable corporate "Ring Rats" are BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Nissan, Lexus and starting in 2002, General Motors. GM's first wave of Nürburgring-honed vehicles includes the Cadillac CTS-V and the sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette. Nissan's Japanese domestic market supercar, the Skyline GT-R, was tuned at Nürburgring (Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nür) and held the unofficial lap record for road legal cars for some time. The race version entered by Falken Tyres did well in 24 Hours Nürburgring, without a chance to win though, but they were among the Top-10 finishers repeatedly.
