Spied: McLaren P12
The McLaren F1 succsesor is a rival to the Ferrari F70, Porsche 918 Spyder, Pagani Huayra, Koenigsegg Agera and Bugatti Veyron. Side note: The P names are internal codes, not official names. P11 = MP4-12C P12 = F1 successor, rumored MP4-F2 P13 = baby McLaren, 911 rival Last edited by BMW269; 04-21-2012 at 06:04 AM.. |

i saw it earlier today! and surprisingly, I haven't seen anyone on any forum interested!! wtf
THIS CAR LOOKS EPIC!! I SERIOUSLY BURST INTO TEARS WHEN I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING AND SAW THE SPY SHOTS! I've been staring at the photos for HOURS! And trying to find some more design clues! It looks GREAATTT!! By the way, did someone notice that the P12 and F70 caught testing at the same facility in Germany? That's kinda weird? |

Nice info. Thanx for sharing.
If Macca wants to compete with Ferrari/Lambo it needs to have a +700BHP(NA?) V12 engine or a bigger/more powerful V8 twinturbo than the MP 4-12C PLUS the weight needs to go definitely under 1500kgs. The F1 specs are still Godlike. < 1300kgs would be great. I'm not a big fan of the 4-12C tbh.... |

The lines look a lot like the current McLaren. But that hood and rear diffuser are crazy!

I have mixed feelings about Maclaren designs. The MP4 doesn't have anything wrong with it exactly but it doesn't have much right with it. If you take the badges of it you wouldn't know what it is. It could be an Ascari for all we know! I think the one unique feature the old F1 had was the central driving position but that's gone.

Somewhat disappointed that the driver's seating position is not centered like the McLaren F1. Did they totally abandon that will this change?

Sure did, it put buyers off, especially the old fat kind with lots of money who buy these cars, they couldn't easily get into it, I've sat in one (a relatives boss owned XP4), even as a skinny 16 year old it wasn't easy.

The center seating is cool, but nothing says "sophistication" like struggling and falling out of your supercar after gaining everyone's attention. Its cool and all, but you have to consider practicality and function.
