If you have photoshop, use Edit-->Image Size-->and then change width to be 800 pixels and make sure the box is checked that says constrain proportions.

I was using Irfanview to resize some of the images. I thought I tried Pshop to resize some of the 4-5mb images I had and couldn't make it work. I'll try this again soon. Thanks all....

You guys make this a LOT harder than it has to be. Select the pic or Pics you want -> click "send to" than "mail recipient". Allow your mail program to shrink. Once the email opens the images are shrunk. You actually don't even need to send the email just copy them out of the email.

great idea, but what if you don't have Outlook set as your default mail? (and don't want to use Outlook, of course)

Photobucket will shrink your pictures for you. So will ImageStation. Not sure about best quality, but it certainly is the easiest.

Irfanviews Resize/Resample option should work fine for shrinking.

this website is great for uploading pictures
it also gives you the option to resize them, or to display them as thumbnails.
