I dont know why, but in these pics it looks less ricey. It looks like it knows what it wants to be and it's not confused about it's identity. Hard to explain lol. Exhausts are a little too big but for the dimensions of the car, it sorta makes sense. Apart from that I see clean lines and creases everywhere. I hope the front isnt overly-complicated...
I see what is ricey though. The spoiler. The front looks a little ricey so far, but I hope it looks good when it's uncovered. The difference between this car and say the new M3, I think is the styling. the M3 has went for curvy styling if you get me, and it ties in with the BMW range. But looking at this GTR, it just looks aggressive and can be slightly reminiscent of modded civics with crazy bodykits. Less class maybe. What do you think????

In all honesty, I think its supposed to look ricey. The R32 and the R34 didnt look as ricey in pictures, but when you saw them in person, you couldnt help but think "rice". But I suppose when we say rice, we really associate it with having a real japanese look to it. Alot of japan-only car manufacturers make cars with a "rice" look to them. So you'd expect that the Skyline, not being a native of the American market, would retain its extremely japanese look and would not be scaled down to blend in with the cars we see all the time here.

i keep noticing unusual details in the design of this car.
the subtle crease in the 'c' pillar. how the rears of the front fender vents and the rear of the quarter windows strike a parallel in contrast with the rest of the car. the back half of the car is extremely aggressive, when you consider we aren't looking at a concept mock-up, but something fairly close to production. how the lenses are delineated and small details are integrated will determine if it's thumbs up or thumbs down, but from my perspective, ain't nothin' ricey about this car. does it have the potential to fall in favor with the f&f crowd? sure have i ever seen a bmw with altezzas or a street-driven porsche with an absurdly large spoiler? you better believe it. it is what it is - a truly bad-ass car if it lives up to all the hype. |

Thanks. We know this is targetting the 911. If you look at my edit, from the side it KINDA look the side profile of a 911.

I like the edit, but how is it different from a Supra or god knows how many other existing sports coupes?
The GT-R is unique and new. |
