Mercedes Accident in MD
Driver Injured After Crashing Car into House
They said the car was going over 100mph and hit several telephone poles, a vacant house and ended up at this brick house where it punctured a hole and went partially into a guest bedroom. Video is worth watching. http://www.myfoxdc.com/myfox/pages/H...Y&pageId=1.1.1 |

Just another MB owner pissed he didn't buy a BMW, so he crashed his car because the insurance payout was better than the trade in value so he can go get a 335.

The same thing happened to a buddy of mine with his Ford Pinto. He ended up crashing though someones garage and into the dining room where the family was setting up for diner. Luckily no one was hurt (except for my buddy's ego). He tried to place the blame on me because I had helped him bleed his brakes the week before, and he wasn't used to them working so well.

SL500... Sigh...
The SL is a beautiful car, sad to see it all crumpled up like a pop can... Wow the driver survived?! DAMN. Now thats what you call a real safety crash rating! Haha. Hope that guy is alright... |

It's when air bubbles start to form in the brake system (like the lines). Over time the brakes lose there effectiveness because the air bubbles are trapped in the hydraulic lines (air compresses, fluids do not compress). So, before bleeding them, he would have to mash REALLY hard on the brake pedal to get any kind of stopping power.... After I bled the lines the trapped air, the brakes were working superbly. The problem was that he was still used to mashing the pedal to the floor to get any kind of decent stopping power. He was driving too fast in the neighborhood and when he hit the brakes he overreacted and slammed them too hard and locked them up, causing him to slide into some people's house. |

Yea thats an SL500. My dad has the SL55 which can perform a lot better than the 500 can. From me driving the car all of the time, the car feels so heavy and stable that I couldnt see fliping the unless doing it on purpose. I always have the roll bar flipped up with the top down, the guys lucky he had his up then. Mike.

Despite the pretty looks of a SL500, I have driven one and I have to say it does not handle anything like the way it looks.
