how do u guys feel bout..

so now that we know the 135i is going to be a sick pocket rocket i feel like everyone and their moms will be driving a bmw with that twin turbo engine.
this engine is by far one of bmw's top but if they stick in the 135i along with 3 series itll jus feel annoying how we paid more $ for a 3 series and this engine when a 1series will blow us.

dont u think it would suck running with a 1 series and then losing to it?.. i know the 335i looks nicer but i honestly think the 1 series looks like a nice original late 80-early 90s bimmer. the back i don't really mind im sure itll grow on us just like the e90 sedan.

bums me out that we'd lose to a 1 series which cost 7-8k less than our cars.

750s feel that way about the 550...535s feel that way about the 335...and the 335 will feel that way about the 135...

See a pattern?

someone close this thread and save us all.

My opinion is this. I wouldn't want a car any smaller than mine. I spend a lot of time running up and down crowded interstates and I've found myself in situations where I wish my car were bigger, and then in the city I like how small it is. I wouldn't want anything smaller. 200 pounds is hardly worth it, in my opinion. Do you think people with 535's care that there's a 335? Or people who drive M5's care that the M3 is faster? Nope

It is obvious that BMW is interested in mass sales along with Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Honda, etc. With that focus, BMW loses its magic, just another Camry on the road.

imo i think this is similar to when the e90 325/330i was released and then 2 years later they announce that they'll be making the 328/335i instead. alot of people were like wow... i should have waited or why wasn't i told about this before? i mean sure it might suck to lose to 135i because of its lighter weight... but in the end you get over it.

I thought the 3 series was supposed to be BMW's small/sporty/enthusiast type of car...now that there's this 1 series, I just hope the 3 doesn't go too upmarket and lose those qualities that made the 3 series famous (while the 1 becomes the "new "3)

At least it's the same engine with the same output, what would be annoying is if there were to be an overlap whereby the 135 generates more power than the 335 for a couple of months until the next model year. Look at when the first batch of 330i E90's came out, they were pushing 255hp while the E60 530i being sold at the same time had the older 225hp motor.

That's just it... the E9x 3 is bigger than the old 5's. The 3 has already crept so far upmarket that the old 3 niche was open again. The 1 is the "new 3", because the current 3 ain't what it used to be.

They are a public company looking to maximize their profit. If you want limited production, you're not going to see it, with this level of performance, for less than a couple hundred $k.

Youll most likely always lose to a bike anyway so game over.

Do you think I care about your vid?? Go get a stock STI and 335i, take them to a track, and then get back to me .... I don't think you are going to like the results!

The 1 series i think will take the same honors in the comparison of 300C to a bentley, they are really cool, but are a poormans bentley. Same with the 1, it will be a cool car but i think they'll be looked down on as the poor mans 335i. The power and size of the car is the biggest draw for me, the styling i'm not 100% on board with, 335i coupes are much sexier.

Lmao, listen to yourself. I never said anything about a track. I SAID STRAIGHT AWAY. Why would I post this video for you if you were talking about a track race? Werent you the one couple post back say 0-60+ runs?
