Also big fan of Top Gear UK and Chasing Classic Cars. I'll add one that I think is great background TV: the Mecum Car Auctions

Not on TV exactly, but the Drive channel on youtube is pretty good. Nice variety of sub-channels for different interests. Evo is nice too, although I don't care for some of the hosts.
I tried watching "God, Guns, and Automobiles" a couple times, couldn't really get into it. I have to say, the Brits do have some of the best car shows. Top Gear UK is by far the best, but they need to make longer seasons. This 6 episode shit is getting annoying. Great adventure stories, but I love watching the banter and cool cars more often than a couple episodes of them driving in some exotic location. Love Chasing Classic Cars too. My father pointed out one time that they show a lot of these really old guys (75+) that have all these cars that need to be built, but wont sell them. He made a comment about how these guys don't have the time or the energy to finish all the stuff they have.

I also love watching Chasing Classic Cars for all of the random cars Wayne seems to find.

I'm a lil surprised not many watch graveyard carz, those guys are more fussy about restoring cars faithfully than most car enthusiasts I know. I mean down to the correct bolt, nuts, fuses etc. And for the right productions dates.
I wish more shops were this anal and passionate about what they're doin. case in point. |

Counting Cars
Fast N' Loud Top Gear UK Top Gear US West Coast Customs show (can't remember the name) Uniqe Whips Sons of Anarchy re-runs of pimp my ride american chopper West Coast Customs/Unique Whips/Pimp My Ride do stupid stuff to cars, but it's entertaining. American Chopper for the fabrication. Top Gear US is ok to me because of the challenges they do. I wish they would keep more along with the UK version though. I miss when they did the track times and big star little car, etc. |

Top Gear (there is no need to differentiate between UK and USA. The one aired in America isn't the real thing. It's like Virgin Cola)
