Any iOS developers here?
I'm in a bind! I had a developer account at my old job and my iPhone was registered in it but then I went to install the new iOS 7 beta and apparently my phone is no longer registered. The result is that my phone is essentially bricked at the welcome screen until I can get my UUID registered. Would anyone with a dev license be kind enough to add my phone's UUID? I would be willing to fork over a few bucks for the trouble. Thanks!
EDIT: Got it! Renewed my dev license. I'll add a UUID for the first person to ask who wants to go to iOS 7 on their iPhone. Last edited by Crypty; 06-11-2013 at 12:45 PM.. |

How are you liking iOS7??? I know there is a site to register the UUID for $8, and I might do it if it's worth it!

iOS7 is pretty sick so far, I haven't experienced any bugs (crossing fingers) and everything is just overall much cleaner looking. I only paid $5 to have my UDID registered, totally worth it.

If you are a developer for the iOS apps (iphones/pads/touches/etc) you can register your device with Apple and get the newest and not publicly available versions of the software after they announce it, and not when they give it to the public.

If you want to see the new iOS, you can always use one of the sites that offer it for you. I think it's like $8 or so.

I'm considering paying the $8 to get my UUID registered. I'm just wondering, if I do that, will I be able to get all of the other beta updates (since after one goes out, your phone is bricked!) through iTunes? How does that work... I don't want to be stranded without a phone!

It can be done without developer account. I did it yesterday.
Just download the file for your phone 1) Download the ipsw file 2) Open iTunes. 3) Plug in your iDevice 4) In Windows, press SHIFT+CHECK FOR UPDATES (for Mac, press OPTION+CHECK FOR UPDATES) NOTE THAT THIS STEP IS CRITICAL. DO NOT SELECT RESTORE IPHONE OR YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ACTIVATE. 5) Select the ipsw. 6) Follow the prompts and enjoy iOS 7. MAKE SURE TO UPDATE AND NOT RESTORE, ALSO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE LATEST ITUNES You can get IOS 7 here(use program like 7-Zip to unzip to get ipsw file): http://gdeluxe.com/ios-7-download/ If you want to go back to IOS 6, follow these instructions. http://www.iclarified.com/31004/how-...-beta-to-ios-6 |

You sound like the worst developer in the world......
no iPhone can really be bricked unless you really fuck up. For the future... 1) Plug the phone in to your computer. 2) Turn it off while its plugged in. 3) Hold the POWER button for 10 seconds. 4) Now hold the Home button WITH the Power button for another 5 seconds. 5) Let go of the Power button. 6) Keep on holding Home button for 30 seconds. Then restore your firmware

For anyone who is interested, you can buy the registration via ebay. Just send the seller your UDID and they will put it into the system.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...00&_udhi=10.00 In regard to how buggy it is, after having it installed on my phone for over 24 hours I can say that it definitely has some flaws but nothing major. Some of my apps will freeze while loading and then just crash, battery life is significantly worse and just some other things here and there don't function the way they should. Can't expect a whole lot from a beta but overall I like the UI much better. |

As has been said, battery life is less, and getting accustomed to the new look and feel of things took a bit. Certain features changed how they were done, swipe to delete, universal search, etc. but are still there. I'm not so sure I like the new notification center, but my guess is that will go through a few revs before the golden sdk is put out there.
