Radar Detectors/Jammers and etc..
Which Radar Detector do you prefer??
Escort Passport 9500i Bel STi Driver Valentine 1 I've read that the Bel destroys the valentine. Do you think that this photo jammer that prevents your license plate from being captured is practical/useful? Equalizer VF2 Photo Radar Jammer Do you know of any radar/laser jammers that work? If so are they useful? I've read that the Blinder laser jammers work. Also, is one able to obtain a Legal European style license plate for your car in the U.S.?? If so, how? -Nathan

Beware of radar detector "tests" Lots of times the manufacturer will have an interest in the "testing" I've used Escort, Bel and V1. V1 is in my car right now, and wouldn't trade it for anything else on the market. V1's are nice because they can be updated, if you bought a V1 10 years ago and had it updated recently, it would work just the same as a brand new one. This will save you money in the long run. The arrows really do help, once you have them, you wont go back. Plus the magnesium case is pimp! ......magnesium 99% of the license plate jammers do not work. Yes Blinder is the only laser jammer that I would use. Again 99% of laser jammers do not work. Also beware of radar/laser jammers, radar jammers are illegal everywhere and you dont want to get caught with one. Register your car in the US with UK plates? I think you know the answer to that one...

That would involve having a car already in Europe, transporting it to the U.S., and then registering it with those plates. (Am I correct??) I figured they would make you get a new set of plates.. I thought there was a way to get a 'Vanity' license plate that looks European, I must be mistaken.. I have read that blinder jammers work 97% of the time, it just depends on where you position them on your car. (Different cars need to have them positioned in different spots for the best result) Thanks for your input! ^___^ -Nathan

I voted for the STi Driver because I am located in VA, and it is the only radar detector that has Spectre III/IV immunity. (As tested by Guys of Lidar)
V1 seems like an outstanding detector otherwise, but it even states on the official page: be advised that no super-heterodyne receiver is perfectly undetectable, and that includes V1. Again, not a problem for most... |

I have the 9500i. The GPS marking feature is nice.

The Valentine One is the best radar/laser detector.

I have always used Escort, as has my father. But to be honest, I think its a toss up between V1 and Escort (duh, Valentine founder is aformer Escort guy). I think the arrows must be nice, but that at the end of the day I'm sure they are about the same as far as their ability/range to detect multiple bands, and of various types simultaneously while also weeding out some of the false signals.
