Helmet suggestions?
I'm looking to pick up helmet, but don't know what brands to look at.
There's an indoor karting place nearby and I'm sick of using their helmets. Plus this way I'd have a helmet for when I track my car. So I want something with a full face and a Snell certification. I'd like to keep it under $300 as well. Not so concerned with flashy (ie. ugly) graphics. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Where?
The track or the karting place? Track: I would assume so, as long as it has the necessary ratings. Karting: Sure, I've seen guys in there with motocross helmets (and goggles) before.

I meant karting. I have a nice Arai helmet left over from my Yamaha R6 days. Thanks btw.

My 2 point exhibition of speed (wheelie) ticket in Irvine didn't help things much either.

The brands you should consider are Bell, Shoei and Arai. The rest are just junk. I use a Shoei when I go karting. You can search for karting supply stores in your area or any motorcycle shop should do. I wouldn't go online to get it cause you need to make sure it fits you correctly.

I agree with 561. I definitely agree trying one on in person before ordering it online. I'd opt for a comfortable helmet that has good ventilation. You might pay a little bit more, but you are protecting your head.

I know I could easily die in my vehicle but it must be the open-ness. Wait a sec you were scared yet were doing wheelies? You crazy mofo. I would never do that shit.

I'd do wheelies but not stoppies, supermans, sitting on the tank, mission impossibles, and other crazy stuff. Wheelies were actually easy.
I always say, bikes are dangerous to new riders because they are easy to ride, hard to master.
