Gotta see these SQUARE WATERMELONS from Japan

In Japan they got these SQUARE WATERMELONs. This is such a dang good idea. Easier to carry, store and cut. Too bad they are so dang expensive!

sweet. The japanese decided to grow watermelons in a box to make them square. There is absolutely no reason for them to be more expensive.

except for the whole making boxes, putting the small fruit in boxes, and removing the fruit from the boxes and the loss from when it doesnt' work out correctly

and, like our cars if the product is perceived as "better" they can charge more for it

People have been growing fruits and vegatables like that in the USA for years, but only for the novelty effect.

Not a new idea.

Still, it is still very cool to see a table full in a market.

I think all produce in Japan is extremely expensive, since land is at a premium.
