1 Series in Grand Am?

So I just checked my facebook and the GrandAm feed posted this picture from this past race

I havent seen this car out on track this season. Have they participated in past races?

And whats its story?

:edit: I just checked and apparently it won in ST this weekend...so why isnt there more buzz about this thing around here?

I was at the race Saturday; yes, the #18 won the ST class, a Mazda 3 took second. Actually, one of the reasons we went to see the race Saturday rather than Sunday was for the ST class. Yes, the DP and GT classes are faster, but the GS class has a lot of similar cars as the GT, but the ST street tuners are cars you see everyday. Every time I saw the mini coopers and honda civics it made me smile.

Nope, it is a 128i that Insight Racing runs in the Continental Tire Series. In the ST class.

Doran Racing ran 128i last year, but they are only competing in Rolex DP this year.

It has been in the series all season. I think Dinan does the engines. It is not a 1m

Actually both ST and GS classes in Continental are production based cars. Rolex GT cars are mostly tube frame cars with production silohuettes.
