Black Magic Cinema Camera

Black Magic revealed their brand new camera named "Black Magic Cinema Camera" a few days ago. This camera is gonna run around $3000 and will come with full Da Vinci resolve copy and full Black Magic ultrascope.

Some Camera Specs
2.5K resolution
13 Stop Dynamic Range
Base ISO: 800 (Expandable to 1600 ISO)
RAW Cinema DNG, ProRes, DNxHD
Records Internall to Any Brand of SSD Drive
EF and ZF Mounts with Iris Control
Internal Battery - 2 Hour Life (can be powered by almost anything with an adapter)

This is gonna give the 5D mark III a run for its money since it can shoot higher res, use canon lenses and has amazing latitude. Oh, and its cheaper.

What do you guys think of this camera? Im seriously considering picking this camera up and start shooting some shorts with it.

it may have a small sensor but who needs super shallow DOF that practically makes everything so blurred you dont recognize it?

I just got back from NAB a few days ago after seeing the Blackmagic camera. It's truly going to be a game-changer. The only slight downside is it's internally sealed battery.

Yeah im wondering how thats gonna effect being on set. Running around with a big ol brick battery isnt the most appealing solution. Im sure someone is gonna come up with something that will have external power.

I'm sure that one of the big power companies like AB or IDX will come up with both a harness to adapt to a bigger battery and a smaller under-mount battery pack. Either way, I think most people will be spending just as much money to build up a full cinema rig around this camera, giving you a place to mount a power supply.
