actually a plasma is a poor choice to game with. he'd be better off going lcd if thats the case.

because if he's NOT into gaming, plasma is still the way to go in MY humble opinion.

Pio elites are awesome, pricier but def. the top of the line pictures around for Plasma. I suggest you go to BB/CC in person and take a look too just to get a better idea once you have a few models in mind. I noticed you also listed the Sony Bravia 52" - it's an LCD though - and let me tell you, I just got the 46" of it this weekend and it is amazing But my bro and I game alot so I went with the LCD and I'm very very impressed. The only thing that came close to the quality of it in the stores where Samsung and the Pioneer plasma was much better but not for my current needs.

Ive had the Hitachi Ultravision 42'HDS69 for about a year now, and its amazingly clear! Sports and programs look super crisp! And they also make it in a 52 in. I would highly recommend it!

Best bang for your buck - Panasonic.
Higher end - Pioneer Elite Fujitsu You can game on a Plasma now, these are 8th + generation units. I game on my Plasma all the time with ZERO burn-in.
