Want to attend an Auto Show: NY Int'l Auto Show, worth it?
So I want to attend an auto show, and it seems like all the big ones are already done. Next one is Detroit @ November, which is too far away.
I see that NY auto show is in April. I was wondering if its worth going? It's going to be a lot of money to go since I have to pay for plane ticket, hotel for several days, food, transportation and all that crap. Though, I'm willing to pay the price if its really worth it. Anyone with auto show experiences?

OP, if you are thinking about a show in the U.S., Los Angeles will be in November and and Detroit (NAIAS) will be next January.
For the money you would spend to do the show in NY ("plane ticket, hotel for several days, food, transportation and all that crap"), you should consider the Geneva show, which I think is this month. It is a huge show, with the added benefit of having a very strong Euro and global presence from the automakers. Attending that show would beat the hell out of going to NY. Is it worth it? How bad do you really want to go?
The car show in Manhattan is great. When I lived in the city we would go every year. Its really a sight to behold. The Javitz center does a great job and the place is huge and stuffed with all the coolest cars and what nots. If you've never been to NYC I would recommend coming. You can add on some of the tons of other things to do here and make a great vacation out of it. ![]() Theres quite a bit more attractions in the Big Apple than LA or Detriot! lol. http://www.autoshowny.com/ Last edited by NYC6; 03-02-2012 at 03:50 PM.. I go every year, and honestly, no its not worth it. if you've never been to nyc then maybe but I don't think a trip to nyc is worth the auto show alone

The NYC is one of the bigger ones you can go to. If you can make a good vacation out of the trip to NYC and do other things besides the auto show alone, it's a great one to go to. This year they'll have the 2013 Viper
![]() LA, Detroit, and Chicago are also good ones to go to. Then there's the ones in Europe...

Because I live 40 mins away from it, and theres no other good auto show near by. Trust me, I'd never pay for a hotel and plane ticket to go to it.

Me too, I go every year and yet still don't know why I go. Mostly for fun, to kill time and since i live 10 minutes away, why not. The only exotics are in the front, everyone crowds there and theres barely anything special anymore. I've saw a billion more exotics when i went to Gold Coast Concourse, the MAC event last summer. I would much rather go to the Geneva show, and I would pay for a ticket from jfk to zrh just to experience it some time.
