I used to work for a REALLY REALLY REALLY rich guy who had a collection of exotic sports cars that would rival Jay Leno. (Multiple Vipers, Z8's, M5's, Ford GT, mercedes mclaren, and about 100 more) The cool thing was that he had an "understanding" with the local group of state troopers that patrolled the highway near us so that certain times of the night on certain areas of the highway he could really open the cars up.
Anyway, I remember riding with him in the mclaren and hitting about 165 on a 3 mile straight. The real fun was when we went out in one of his older hot rods on some of the local back roads. It's truly amazing how fast some of those older cars can be. FYI....the Ford GT has to be the most uncomfortable and overrated car I have ever been in. |

I've never driven a sub 5 sec 0-60 car, and the ones that I've been a passenger in, the driver never punched it.
So my 335 Sedan is the fastest experience I've ever had. |

A guy I work with races Ferrari's and Maserati's as a hobby. He's got like 6-8 of them, but this is his prize Ferrari...a 1994 red Ferrari 512TR (flat 12cyl.) with ~ 420BHP. He took me for a ride in the 512TR and two of his Maserati BiTurbo's; although we didn't go over 100mph, this may be the fastest car I've been in...certainly one of the coolest anyhow. The sound of a Ferrari is just intoxicating! Here's a pic of the 512TR (not his but it looks the same)...

That record belongs to a 1997 Pontiac Firebird Formula..... At the time the odometer hit 155 it kept accelerating and wasn't anywhere close to redline..... So I am guessing I did 160+..... Car was mostly stock with an exception of couple of mods.....(removed speed limiter was one of them)

GT2, power slid at around 80MPH on a sweeping left - correcting all the way, not top speed but no traction control and not my car so it was very interesting to say the least......a lot of prayer involved right after.

Lingenfelter twin-turbo C5.
That sum'bitch hauled a$$...until a redneck in a jacked-up pick-up didn't see it parked behind him and reversed up onto -- and through -- the hood. Engine was salvaged, though. Fastest I've ever been behind the wheel was in a heavily modified Mitsu 3000GT VR-4. Passed some kid in a 5.Slow Mustang at 160ish.
