My FiL just called me. He got a speed camera ticket in the mail. The problem is, the car isn't his, the tag isn't his and was never in this part of the state.

A few months ago, he had to close a credit card because it was compromised. He thinks someone may have rented the car and that is the one in the pic.

The other working theory is that there is another person with his name which isn't unlikely and teh MVA sent the ticket to the wrong person.

It's a $75 ticket which is honestly of no concern to my FiL. It's just the principle of the thing. He would have to trudge downtown to Baltimore city and fight it. We do not live in Baltimore City.

Can anyone run a Maryland plate 4AC7782 and PM me? It was on a Chevy sedan. The pic was taken at night so it's hard to see details.

Most camera speeding tickets have pictures of the person driving...which from what I understand, is the only way to fully enforce the camera ticket (they now block out the passengers as well...)

I would assume if he calls the DMV, they could tell him how they traced it to him. A rental location (Hertz, Enterprise, etc) require photo driver licenses when renting, so the CC bit is not how it was traced. I would assume most locations get company credit cards for their rentals anyway.

They probably just made a mistake on who it was sent to...and I would think a simple call would fix the issue.
