Anybody like Directv?
About to install it tomorrow - please advise on whether this is a good decision or not...

I just upgraded to a Directv HD DVR since I bought a 42" plasma and have been pretty happy with it.
The dish is fairly large and had to be put on a pole in the backyard instead of the top of the house (high winds where I live), but you can record two programs at once. If you're just flipping thru the channels (rather than using the guide), it is very slow (even slower than my old Sony Directv sat controller), but not an issue if you just use the guide list. Discovery HD has had some pretty awesome programming on lately - make sure you check it out if you're getting the HD controller. |

I have the HD package with the 5LNB dish...
I love it when it's working, but whenever wind or rain comes, it can be very blotchy and go out often... I have a Samsung 50" DLP 1080P for reference...

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I think I'm getting that HR20 receiver with a 5LNB dish. One question - on installation were you able to avoid having it drilled through your wall?
