Credit Cards
after receiving a letter in the mail today that i will now have a 29.99% penalty charge on one of my CCs i am looking to switch to one with rewards. I know i wont be late as i never have and my credit is great, very high 700s. this is what i needed to to start looking for a new card with rewards since both of mine don't and i have been lazy to sift through the thousands of different ones. I am currently remodeling the house i just bought and have more $$ on this CC then i have ever had so i assume this is the reason they want to rape me. well fuck em, im out. but i may keep it around since my apr is 9.24
what cards do you guys have or recommend with rewards. If you have had a bad experience with one, please share. 0.00 apr on transfers would be sweet

Most of them are changing to high penalty APRs, I have a card with a balance of $450 out of $7000 and they sent the same letter you got last week.
I've started using my AMEX Gold for everything, granted it's not a revolving line of credit (full pay off required each month), but it seems to have the best rewards and the best discounts on hotels/travel etc. It's 1 point per dollar, so it adds up fast. If you get the premier rewards you get 3x for airfare, 2x for gas I think, and 1x for all other purchases. Higher annual fee, but better perks. I started typing out all of the cards I have just now and it's depressing. brb suicide. I have like 9 credit cards. wtf. I am pretty happy with first national, first they bumped my rate by 2% and I bitched at them, then moved the funds off of the card.. They sent me a 7.99% lifetime APR, no fee on a balance transfer offer. Pretty good deal I guess. Keep in mind when you do a balance transfer that amount generally doesn't count as rewards so you won't benefit from that portion of it. Discover is a bunch of idiots, I've never had one but they offer me one once or twice a month, I've tried to accept their offers twice now in the past few years and they say oh sorry.. then 3 days later they let me know i'm approved. Idiots. |

Yeah CB is pretty good for info on what the best rewards programs are. Mostly it depends on how much you spend and if you want cash, miles, or points.

every perk with that card is expensive.. I can get better deals if I look for it I've browsed through their "exclusive" magazine a few times... I know 5 people that have the card.. the concierge service is useless and expensive... you're better off buying a Vertu.. they have a better concierge service

They were sending me like two offers a week in mail!
I was quite annoyed and let them know it.
