iPhone 5
I know I know.
But my contract is up 5/9, wife and I really want to switch from our blackberry tours to the iphone. She doesn't care and is switching on 5/9 regardless if she gets the 4 or 5. I on the other hand could wait, especially if it's only going to be a month or 2 longer. I do not want to wait till sept-nov which has been said could be the new release time frame. I know this is a crap shoot. But what do you iphone junkies think? I also know droid iz teh boMb, get dat or you the fail. Don't want the droid.

i didnt think Apple would push back the release but everything points at a Sept/Oct release
the only reason im starting to believe its because its said to be a world phone, meaning CDMA and GSM in one phone, so a later release date would make sense specially seeing as the white iPhone 4 is due to come tomorrow |

If anything, it'll probably be the iPhone 4S to be honest. Yeah, the screen might be a tad bit bigger, have a better camera, the new A5 processor, and maybe a redesigned antenna, but as far as functionality and features I don't think it'll be much different.
I don't think you can go wrong with either. If it were me, I'd prolly wait the 6 months max to get the newer one, but it's your call.

they are also rumors of the doing away w/ the home button
there are new gestures in place in 4.3 already, I have them enabled on my iPad 2 and I havent used the home button since OP, have you thought about buying a used iPhone to hold you over? you can always resell later on since they hold value pretty good |

If you have to get the next version, it will be a refresh (as Chewy said, a "4S" whether they call it a "5" or not).
However, the version coming out in 2012 should be LTE ready. I don't think I'd waste a subsidized purchase on a non-LTE phone any more if you live in a covered area. |

Not that I have to have the newest and best version as soon as it comes out. I'm def not that guy. I also don't want to wait 6+ months either. I can wait a little longer for the 4S/5 and def really put off the LTE phone until v2 in all honesty. Cleveland's LTE network is up but spotty anyways. I'm just really sick of my blackberry and its broke ass browsing capabilities. Great phone and email/text usage but I want/need the browser to work better. I don't care to buy an interim phone either. Being locked in for 2 years doesn't bother me.

^^ or you could just buy a white housing kit for <$30...why buy a whole new phone that makes ZERO cents. They have been out forever. I have had a white one, blue one, and a red iphone 4. All by changing out housing kit. Super easy.

I'm hoping it will come out in June..but highly unlikely since they are releasing the white ones tomorrow.
Apple needs to step up. Refresh in greater than a year is not cutting it against their competitor Android. |

The problem with Android is that their are way too many versions and it's constantly changing. The OS is worked over so often depending on phone it is a little nuts. Plus phones have a hard time updating due to so many inconsistencies. Great OS but until there is some sort of standard they are just spinning wheels, making a lot of noise but not actually gaining much.

What? Android has made tons of progress.... Not sure I understand what you're saying.
How long did it take iOS to get copy/paste? multitasking? I'd say Android is progressing at quite a decent pace. |

If you want an Android phone and live in an LTE area already, just get the Thunderbolt from Verizon. VZW has the corner on LTE bandwidth so it's best to go with them anyway for future coverage superiority. Plus, they're less douchey than AT&T. Android updates and app availability is much better anywhere except AT&T. Combine HTC support, build quality and update attention, with Verizon's tendency to let you have quicker updates and more freedom with apps, and you're in a much better situation than with the most restrictive carrier (AT&T) and/or sucky OEM (Samsung/Moto). |

I've had each genre of the iPhone and all of them have been overall ok, but I always seem to have an issue with each phone. I dropped the iphone4 (the phone I have now) about 2 feet with a case and eversince the phone has acted like a bitch. Whenever I need the phone I have to hit the home button twice and the delays and hanging applications is what really pisses me off. And going to the store to have them look it over and tell me its fine because there diagnostics system tells them its fine, I can kill someone I get soo pissed. I've had the original phone since December and I dont want to go in there to get a refurbished phone because I paid a good amount on this phone. So I think im done with the iPhone this time.
