Tint opinion

What % should I go with for front and rear? I have black interior. Looking to get it done soon.

Thanks!

precisely 30.326787123%. Anything less and you can't see out the window in the dark. Anything more and you might as well not put anything on.

Thanks for making it easy for us to help....

do you want to avoid it being hard to see at night?
what color is the exterior?
are you trying to keep the inside cool or just looks?

Oops sorry.

I have black exterior and black interior. I'm going for looks and function. I want to be able to see out at night but at the same time I don't want people to be able to see inside when I'm doing the dirty dirty in the back.

Why don't you just paint your face black? With that color combo you have, it's the easiest way to disappear into the night. Just don't go to Oakland ...

IMO don't mix %'s (front and rear) - doesn't flow well.

I have 20% but wish I had 15% like my A4 did.

I've had 35%, 15%, and now 20% on 3 different cars (all black int. 2 black ext.)

35 was way too light.
20 is good for me

I think 15% is the way to go for you. Its dark enough where you need to lower your windows to talk to people at night, but light enough to see clearly.

Be SURE to ask what brand film they are using.

p.s. Always drop all windows if you get pulled over. Cop will probably think you are doing it for his safety so he can see in and it protects you from him seeing that your windows are too dark. Though if he is a major cocklicker he will ask you to roll them up.

This man knows what he's talking about.

15% is probably the perfect tint percentage.

I honestly wouldn't listen to anything else in this thread. If you're going to tint your windows don't waste your time and money getting 30% on...as it is useless.

p.s. always roll all of your windows down if you get pulled over -- cop will hopefully think you're doing it for his safety (so he can see in), but you're doing it so hopefully he doesn't see your illegal tint, though if he is a major douche he will ask you to roll them up.

I always prefer 20%, perfect during the day, and not too dark where you cant see at night.

Pointless. Cop asked me to roll it up in 2 separate occasions when I was already driving with the windows down. You can't roll down your rear windshield and that pretty much gives it away that you are tinted..

i have 15% all around for over two years on this car and love it. no problems seeing at night, except when i need to back into something at night when i need some precision - where i'll just lower the windows to see the side-mirrors that i've pointed towards the ground.

State Trooper didn't ask me to roll them up when it was night time...just saying.

Well in TX you can go ask dark as you want on the rear windshield...

Nonsense... 50 all around (Windshield included) is perfect for the look im going IMO. You wont get bothered either.

I had 15% all around. I changed it to 50 because I literally couldnt drive with out getting pulled over.. initially i thought i would hate it, but it turned out great. I think it would be a different story if my car didnt have a dark interior.
The windshield tint really makes the look "uniform"... and also gives it a darker appearance at first glance.

Granted, its illegal to tint the windshield... But do cops even have a way of checking windshield tint besides a visual/razor blade? When its this subtle, it sneaks by unoticed.
