whats your f1 picks for the year?
i cant wait to see what raikkonen does now that hes moved to ferrari, im expecting a big leap in performance for him
im also interested to see what happens to alonso now that hes switched out of renault but more importantly, im VERY interested in what fisichella does now that he doesnt have to sit behind alonso playing blocker! cant wait to see those two fight it out and ofcourse now that ive joined the BMW club ill be routing for them to get some constructor points im VERY happy that this year is bridgestone only, the amount of crap thrown in there from one tire having trouble at a track giving an advatage to another team was really annoying i think its going to be a real close fight this year between raik, fisichella and alonso

I am not sure who is with what team and all the shuffling in the off season. i guess i will have to do lots of reading to catchup. I glad I am not the only person wanting to see BMW get back to winning in F1. When is the season starting and who are the bmw drivers?

Kimmi will struggle(read blow Ferrari engines now) Felipe will win races and will fight for the title. Fernando to keep good form and fight for title BMW to look better this year This will likely be Fisi's last season in F1 Not sure about Honda and Toyota. I just hope they do better. I think the first race is March 18 in Australia. What's the latest on Scott Speed?

will shape up to be a great season
i dont like the idea of going with just Bridgestone tires.... big disadvantage to teams that have been using Michelins. dont think massa will do much this year, besides being slowing down Kimi and being in the way. alonso will be in a fight for the championship against kimi. fisichela isnt fast enough to win a championship, and dont think renaut will do well this year at all. BMW will do alright, probably finish 3rd or 4th in team points.... Heidfeld is good, but Kubica is very good, watch out for him. Toyota will do what theyve done for the last 3 years, be an average team. Honda will finish better than toyota and may give BMW a run for their money in team championship points. Williams will have to get over reliability problems and start putting up points. they dont have a strong engine, and Wurz is a waste of time. Rosberg has the potential to be a good driver. Toro Rosso, i think Liuzzi will out perform Speed this year Red Bull, a washed up team, David Coulthard and Mark Webber.... PLEASE. will only do as well as the car performs. Super Aguri, Sato will just keep on spinning out lol. will compete for one of the bottom spots. Spyker, will give Super Aguri a run for their money.... for last place my predictions DRIVER 1.Kimi Raikonen 2.Fernando Alonso 3.Felipe Massa 4.Giancarlo Fisicella 5.Jenson Button 6.Robert Kubica 7.Nick Heidfeld 8.Ruben Barrichello Constructors 1. Ferrari 2. Mercedes 3. BMW 4. Honda 5. Renault |

why do you say that? neither tire had an advantage all out, just from track to track, if anything the last two years running michelins was a huge DISADVANTAGE i meen for the past two years half the field had to retire before a race because they were running michelins and having blowouts or spinouts consistantly

I think the Michelin teams will also be at a disadvantage at least early in the season. The tire is such an integral part of the entire package and having to adjust to a different construction and compound will take time. I do not know if he is trying to lower expectations but Pat Symonds from Renault was saying the same here.
I hope BMW improves enough that they are able to retain Kubica for a while, he will be a great one. The last I heard Scott Speed was signed to drive for Toro Rosso.

well put, but dont forget ferrari has been running bridgestones for a long while now, better relationship between tire company and team. and i dont know if you guys remember, but there was also the contrevorsy(sp?) between ferrari and bridgestone, the other teams saying that ferrari had special treatment and they had more testing and better tires than other bridgestone teams. it will deffinatly be an interesting first 3-4 races to see the michelin teams adapt. |

i believe the race tire issuing is overseen by the FIA, is what your talking about when people were saying that they issued the other teams softer compounds during practice to get rubber on the track?

not every michelin or bridgestone team are running the same tires.... there are different compounds and different tires. it all depends which tire the team choses to run. as long as the tire is FIA approved the tire is good for racing. and the FIA is not in the position to discuss what tires every team is using, due to the secracy of the teams and cars.
