^^^He LET THEM GO!?
What are they going to do, tell on him? "He pulled me over for speeding and was rude to me....but he let me go" If it were me I would STFU, move along and relish the fact that I got caught driving almost 100MPH and got away with it. Too bad the Polizei aren't as forgiving. "psssht Amis" BTW how was this guy owned? The cop let him go. |

Kind of a dick?!?! Giant asshole with an ego just because he has a badge. Ooopps...camera was capturing all of that. Gives good cops a bad name.
But...funny thing is, he didn't get a ticket, cop just walked off. Guess he really didn't catch the guy for speeding, just thought he was driving fast.

i think the cop let him go because he is a foreign citizen, probably didn't want to deal with the paperwork for issuing a citation/arresting someone from another country
or this

Seriously! who cares what the cop says if you get away!
But yes, the cop should not treat people that way. |

Wow, this guy IS a dick, and I am law enforcement... anyway, the first time I came back from Germany to the states and I had my 2004 325i still with my German (but US Military) license plates still on, I got pulled over going 105 in a 65. My plates were allowed to be on my car for 30 days, so he obviously knew I had just come from there. I thought I was dead.. but he was cool and wrote me for going 74 in a 65, and gave me a GIANT warning that no police officer around that area would ever be as cool as he just was. I learned my "back on the good old US highway" lesson quickly..
4 Years in Germany (in my case) and driving on the autobahn is very hard to readjust... I'm surprised that German driver was only going 98..

I'm sure he had no clue how to write that up - paper license, rental car, passport, orders. Funny thing was that it was complete unintentional and I wasn't even thinking that I was breaking the law - 24 hours earlier I had driven to the airport in Germany at 150mph and passed a cop and an ambulance who moved over to let me by. |

I dunno about that.
Seems like a tough American cop. Giving a guy doing 98 in a 70 a warning...he did it with some aggression. Its clear the guy was scared shitless...as anyone would be when approached by some big ass american cop/border guard. |

Looks fake to me, too. I can't imagine any officer, no matter how unprofessional he may be, would walk straight up to a strange vehicle he just pulled over and casually lean against the door as if he's just stopped an old friend. It goes against every procedure he would have learned and practiced, most of which are for his own safety.

honestly, i think the cop did the right thing. if you were in another country and got in trouble with the law they would do MUCH WORSE to you...possibly even imprison you for no reason, or explain to you what your charge is.
nothing wrong with a little scare tactics. |
