Any anthropologists on here by chance? Shed some light for me
First I know I can search, and I have but I'm looking for someone with first hand experience on the degree. I'm considering minoring in Anthropology or even majoring if the career pays well. I have a bit of a "sixth sense" when it comes to reading people, hell a few times on this site I've figured out a member was full of shit by just reading their posts and proved it. Anyone know anything about the field more than google?
And yes I know a lot of people can tell a liar but I see it way before others, and I also good reading people with other things too

How does anthropology and being intuitive with living people relate? Sounds like psychology is the field for you...

yeah OP seems confused. anthropology AFAIK is concerned with the history and social networks of people....psychology deals with the behavior of people psychology is what you want |

I know but I wouldn't mind learning about the history of people and what made us what we are today

For instance like the 2 shows House and Lie to me(yes I know its a show) but I read that there are government jobs for anthropologists and I'm assuming that's technically what he has
And how house is with people, and how he can tell what a person was just doing by there actions and motion, etc... I don't want psychology because I'm not intrigued by fixing peoples problems, worst case scenario I do a minor for fun and keep business

1. teaching 2. if you can combine it with some type of criminal or science degree you can be a forensic investigator. My teacher was doing a PHD in it and she wanted to the forensic anthropology path. You need to talk to an advisor in the department to look at career options after. It's HARD WORK! Remember, obtaining a college degree is a big excercise in investment and return. Sure you can pay 50k to get an art history major, but what the fuck are you going to do with it after you graduate? |

^ exactly, so many of my friends take the easy route and get sports management degrees, if I'm going to struggle 4 years I might as well get a degree that's rare
Thanks for your insight I'm at a 2 year school right now knocking out my basics, just trying to do some research before I transfer into UT

Do something you have passion for, otherwise you will hate it. Most people don't work in the field of their undergrad degree anyway.

If you don't mind it, accounting pays well right out of school, and you have the ability to do pretty much anything in the business world with it.
Don't really know much about anthro though. My GF got her undergrad in psychology and is doing a master's in social work because she wants to be a clinical therapist. She's doing an internship right now and works with people a lot and seems to really like it. Maybe look into that.

I know some peeps who graduated with a psychology that are now tellers, basically you can be a K-12 psych for sschools, or social worker for government
My grandma did accounting for 40 years and my uncle is an accountant, but I hated my accounting class
