Got every season on DVD that's available. Good stuff. I'm a big Miami Vice fan.

The Testarossa was the real deal. Ferrari N.A. sued them for using the kit car and representing it as the real thing for the Daytona. After talks, they agreed to supply them 3 Testarossas. They sent them black cars but Michael Mann said it didn't fit with his ideas for the colors of the show and had them all repainted white.

The TV show had some stupid cheese but it also had some legitimately epic scenes and characters. Some of the villains were so over the top flamboyant and crazy. But after moving to Miami as a kid and spending my high school years there I found that it wasn't such an exaggeration after all.
The movie started off really, really well and then took a nosedive once they started getting into the forced and unconvincing romance between Crockett and the Chinese Cuban (wtf?) chick. In all my time in south FL I never met anyone of Cuban descent who was Asian. I met a few people who came from Jamaica and were of Chinese ancestry, but Cuban? Not one. |
