new E350 tire blow out

My parents bought the new benz E350 sedan about a week ago. It had around 5K on it since it was a demo model and they got a great deal on it. My mother was driving it on a ramp the other day and had a front tire explode on her. Everyone in my family is pretty surprised and even worried that something like that happened on a brand new Mercedes which comes with relatively expensive pirelli tires. Did any one else have any similar experiences? Is this a rare isolated incident?

I'm sure it's rare and isolated. Anything can happen with tires, the make/model of car doesn't matter. The pressure could have been way off, the rim could have been bent, someone before could have hit a nasty pothole. It's a used car, so who knows.

Yes, relatively expensive Pirelli tires explode often. Not blow outs, but EXPLODE. But only on Mercedes Benz vehicles. And especially brand new ones with 5k already on the odometer. This has happened on countless brand new Mercedes Benzes with the relatively expensive Pirelli tires.

^What he said. Its very common issue, i am surprised you didn't know about this. Should have told her to buy a BMW.
