Kidney stones..anyone had it...got surgery tomorrow!!

Weird that I'm sharing this with my fellow 1addicts/bimmerpost community but I am scared shitless right now. Had stones for nearly 3 weeks, 2 of which, I thought I passed it but it came back this past weekend. Urologist says that its better to have them removed now than risk infection while trying to pass them the normal way.

Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30pm...same day...but under general anesthesia...Hoping that someone can share their experiences and cheer me up!

never had kidney stones, but they will probably put you out with propofol, white liquid that knocks you out and you wake up right after surgery and walk out, thats what they gave me for my EGD...should quick and easy man

Ironically that's the drug that killed Michael Jackson. Just sayin.

Do you know the method they are using to remove the stone. Some are less invasive and some require putting a very long camera up a place you never wanted a camera.

yea i know, i didnt even think about it until after, i cant believe that doc gave him that stuff, its the best drug they have came out with for surgery because after they are done you just wake up like nothing ever happened, not hours of sleep and drowsiness

I thought they used ultrasonic sound to brake the stones into smaller pieces and let them pass naturally, because the other method requires them to send up a tube up your tube with a camera on it and yank them out by hooking on to them.

Depends on where the stone is located as to whether the shock waves are an option.

You'll be fine, no big deal. Its true, UTIs suck much more than breaking a few kidney stones.

Drinking water is great...from what I've been told, it is hereditary...my older bro had it...so was just a matter of time for me too. I am not too sure what the side effects of your supplements are, but the 1-2 gallons of water is a good idea to flush things out! Crystal clear pee ftw!

Can you ask him about the pain immediately after surgery and how long it is supposed to last...that's what I'm dreading. Being invaded where I shouldn't be and the trauma from it.
