I am amazed that not only the cops let the guy film it, but that the criminal allowed the transaction to be on tape.

It appears the transaction occurs on public property. No laws in CA that I'm aware of about needing consent to film anyone on public property.....

What surprises me is the guy's (victim's) composure. I would have beat the fuck out of that guy had he stolen my wheels....

He set the guy up with the cop beforehand. Obviously he doesn't want to get arrested for assault.

There was really only 2 outcomes.

I believe as long as it is public property it's fair game as long as you are not looking to financially benefit from the video.

wow california is super lenient...pulled up the penal code. You're right, because it was in a public place you're allowed to post and use that video tape any way you see fit.

There's definitely a few states where that will bite you right in the ass
