what your employer give for thanksgiving?

Just curious what everyone get from their employer for thanksgiving. I am very thankful to have a good job and that is enuf for me. But traditionaly, I get a $25 gift card to HEB/grocery store. Not bad considering I am not expecting much.

How about everyone else on e90post?

I get a turkey.
Apparently they're free-range, non-hormone, corn-fed, blah blah blah, healthy turkeys... whatever.

I guess it'd be nice if I was going to have to buy one, but I live at home. My dad buys them for his employees too, so he'll get one for us, plus one of his clients buys us a huge ham every year. The last thing we need is another turkey.

The office is also closed on Thursday and Friday.

The friday after off.

Man, I've never worked for any company (and I've worked for my share of .coms) that's given anything to employees on the holidays. We get a holiday party and that's it. Which is actually just fine by me. But where are these guys working that get christmas bonuses?

$50 bill.

i've been working at the same place for 6 years now. at first, it was a $30 gc to honey baked ham or trade joe's (your choice). 3 years ago they switched to the amex gc for $50, and then 2 years ago changed to just to giving a $50 bill.

I guess the gc has too much overhead expense so giving cash would benefit both employer and employee (employee benefit more-I think).

I get to be on call... Compliments of not only being the low man, but the part of the totem pole that's buried in the ground. Christmas too! Can't wait.

Paid Thurs + Fri off. Paid Xmas week off too. It's real dead during / right before these weeks, can actually get more work done during the peace and quiet.

Paid time off on Thursday and Friday for US Thanksgiving holiday, week off during Christmas, however, you have to use your own earned vacation and if you don't have any you have to go it without pay.

Hahaha, I get the same thing. Hopefully, things will stay quiet so I can stay home.
