Have fun with a scammer

Found an ad on Craigslist for a 2002 745i for $4900. So obvious a scam.

Anyway, I emailed the guy and it is, of course a scam -- he wants to ship it to me lol. It is in Montana but of course the car doesn't exist.

So I am wasting his time by stringing him along - asking him about options and questions I know he can't answer. He's getting more and more frustrated as I make him jump through hoops trying to answer my questions.

So, here is the ad, lets all email him as interested buyers and waste the guy's time...just string him along...it's a hoot: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/ctd/1639750780.html

If he tells you the car's location, tell him that you are close by and want to come see it. I never tried that angle. I'd love to know what they say to get out of you ACTUALLY SEEING THE CAR!

I have three of them going now. The BMW, a Lexus and a Benz.

Fun fun fun.

If you are 100% sure it is a scam, here is a plan that was developed by a group of people who were fighting these scammers... the best way is to make THEM feel like they are in control all the way til the end and flip it on them. Eventually they might get a real job... (well that is the plan, and this sure pisses them off). These foreign scammers work in "clans" they get paid a salery to do this... no joke. The money gets "pooled" together.

Follow these steps... and have fun with it...

Tell him you are ready to wire him the money...

get all his bank info to wire the money into, tell him the wire transfer company is requesting more information because THEY think its a scam

Get as much info as possible... address, phone, name, etc etc... act like you are frustrated with the wire transfer people because YOU trust him.

Right at the end, tell them you gave ALL the info to the authorities. They will ussually get really PISSED and start telling how you are just one of dozens of idiots that fall for his scams and he has tons of money already, you can't phase him, blah blah blah...

Then if you are really mean, use all his info and go make eCheck donations to your favortie charities... most these scammers keep large amount of money from their scam victims in these accounts for periods of time until they can move it amongst their underground channels. This money sometimes sits in these accounts for YEARS, and is never restored to its proper owners, and usually ends up funding nasty stuff.

The problem is that the countries they work out of could care less if they steal from Americans.

I saw a documentary on this, they get TONS of money, they fund horrible things.. sex slavery, terrorism.. etc...

The last time that I found one of does (for a mini cooper 2005 for 7900$), I sent him a very Bad virus to erase his PC HD, damage his BIOS after still all his information, I discovered that he was trying to scam about four people at same time. his computer will not work ever again. just what he deserved.

I'm sorry to sound doubtful, but I would be really surprised if you knew anything about viruses.

By the way, and this is support for my argument, keep in mind that accessing private information without authorization is a felony, and should not be admitted on a public forum.
