Something smells fishy, why would you need a username and password to read the FAQ, or any of the other links on the website? Also if this is gonna be shown on national TV, sponsored by NBC, wouldn't NBC foot the bill? my .02 cents... Not blasting the OP, but doesn't seem all that right to charge participants...

I googled robin hood rally and it's like an actual rally car race so I don't really think our cars would be able to participate and yes, it's fishy that participants would foot anything at all considering the amount of money the network would make. It's most likely a scam when they ask you for a deposit/money for anything.

Has to be a scam. I'd close the thread, but I'll leave it open so the Internet detectives here can weigh in. The other mods or admin may want to close this, though.
I'm moving this to OT and changing the title, so people who don't read the posts won't accidentally get scammed. Also, to be clear, nothing at all against Dubbedoutbimmer here, he was sharing with the community. I wonder if the people running that site, though, are legit. I have my doubts.

I posted that I thought it was a scam on his linked in account here is his rebutle
\ \\\ Gentlemen - I can assure you this is not a scam. Here is a bio of our Executive Producer, Stephan Condodemetraky (all bios can be viewed on our website at www.robinhoodrally.com and www.cfpartnersllc.com). Stephan Condodemetraky - Executive Producer Stephan’s current position is Managing Partner of CF Partners, www.cfpartnersllc.com, and the Executive Producer of the Robin Hood Rally. In 2007 Stephan and John “Skip” Barber III entered into a contract to develop the Club at Lime Rock Park, www.limerockclub.com, utilizing his existing facility, Lime Rock Park, www.limerock.com. Lime Rock Park is a 50 year old historical road racing facility in Lakeville, CT known as the Road Racing Capital of the East. Stephan successfully created and led a team of sales, marketing, public relations, direct mail, and web professionals to develop and successfully sell memberships during the worst down market period since the Great Depression. The Club at Lime Rock Park has received over 100 member commitments to date. Stephan’s past positions include President of Club Motorsports, Inc., www.clubmotorsports.com, where he successfully developed the concept of building a Motorsports Country Club, a new concept involving the use of a road course facility to create a driving and enthusiasts club similar to those developed using golf courses. He led the project including all facets of sales and marketing, public relations, engineering and land development, technology, team building, government permitting, and all amid vocal opposition in New Hampshire. Stephan successfully created and led Club Motorsports from 2002 to 2004, including raising the initial capital, purchasing the property (260 acres of land with one of the most scenic views in the US), building the team, and securing the required permits, including a complete and issued Army Corps of Engineers Permit. Additionally, his public relations and political team passed State Legislation allowing for little or no local operational oversight. Stephan’s sales and marketing team sold 200+ memberships at an average price of $25,000 along with booking 90 road course rental days. The team accomplished this without a facility. In addition to his success in project development Stephan is a seasoned entrepreneur having started and run several high-technology companies including PowerOasis, a one-time market share leader in the development, manufacture, and deployment of products and services that provide high speed Internet and Web accessibility for the business traveler. Stephan and PowerOasis hold two US Patents for vending data and electricity. Stephan also founded Energy Operations Finance (EOF), a firm specializing in financing and construction for energy conservation projects in both the public and private sector. Statoil Energy, a $35 Billion Norwegian Oil and Gas Exploration Company, acquired EOF in early 1996. Stephan has worked independently in the Sales and Marketing marketplace since early 1993 and understands the many unique requirements needed to create and sustain profitable growth. He also has a clear understanding of many of the unique requirements and issues facing a broad range of industries from sales, marketing, finance, technology, and human resources. Stephan holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Mr. Condodemetraky also has a strong understanding of current technology platforms including hardware and software. Stephan has successfully completed the Skip Barber Racing School Three Day Racing School along with the Advanced Two Day Racing School. Stephan has spent many of his track days at Lime Rock Park, Watkins Glen, and Road Atlanta. He has driven many of the current street and race vehicles available. |

i worked for a few NBC shows as a freelance editor.
Stephan Condodemetraky is a producer i don't know. honestly their web page does not mention NBC - just reality tv. if u have a copy of that email - i can forward it to a friend of mine at the network and confirm with you all. pm me. As reference a production company will not ask you for money up front! never. ever. they'll have you come in and do an on screen for casting and contact you later if producers decide to go with you. if anything they will compensate you for being on camera during an actual filming of the show. Sounds to me a person has an idea and is fronting as a network series to attract people to help them in filming. or scamming. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY!!! NBC they will pay for any cost pertaining to a filming!!! if this email is real, no cost would be involved. also here's a link to show's that NBC has current for reality. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/devwat...eality&studio= this link is a reference that comes from the trade papers - not all productions are listed but you get an idea. as you can see there is no new slate for reality tv on NBC for the last year. You'll get Biggest Loser, Apprentice, and America's Got Talent and those are the bread winners for NBC right now. end of story. close this thread.

2 things...
1. I filmed a fricken tornado out my backyard and posted it on youtube, and to air it on a show that NBC was producing they had to call and contact me to use said footage and pay for it. I made some good bank from it, not just from NBC. But, that said, a tv show will NEVER ask for money up front, they, if anything will shell out the money for everything. 2. A Corvette Z51? A Z51? What is that, a lifted version with AWD and a Tahoe body kit? LOL.....I know, they mean ZR1, but still, funny. |

Stephan is a personal friend of mine and I feel obligated to set the record straight. I met Stephan several years ago when I joined the Drivers Club at Lime Rock, which he and Skip Barber set up, and I have been friends with both Stephan and Skip ever since. Everyone at Lime Rock knows Stephan and he is very well liked and respected by the Lime Rock Staff and the Club Members. I worked with him last October to organize a visit to Lime Rock Park by The Cayman Club/Planet-9 Nor'Easters Chapter. See link below: http://www.planet-9.com/u-s-northeas...lime-rock.html That event was so successful that we are currently in the formative process of organizing another visit to Lime Rock as a fund raiser for Ronald McDonald House. Stephan does not run scams and I can personally attest to the fact that his biography is absolutely accurate. I can aslo attest to the fact that he is a stand up guy and so can a number of other members here, on Bimmerfest.com and onPlanet-9.com (Cayman Club). He is a well kown figure in the motorsports world and has participated in the Greenwich Concourse and has presented to the Manhattan Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society. I spoke to Stephan yesterday and this sounds like a great event. I am invited to the kick off party next month and will post more info as it becomes available.
