2010 Vauxhall Insignia VXR
At the heart of the Vauxhall Insignia VXR is a advanced 2.8-litre V6 Turbo ECOTEC engine, with its micro-alloy forged steel crank, classic 60-degree cylinder angle and die-cast alloy oil sump - all features found in many a race engine. Producing 325PS (65PS up on the Elite V6), the engine uses a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve control for quick throttle response, and accelerates from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds, achieving an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

I love it, but I'm questioning the placement of those tall brake ducts...they're too narrowly placed.

It's a great car and the VXR will add a bit of spice to a well balanced if a little safe and middle of the road range.
Don't like it in white though, maybe it will look better in a nice light grey metallic. I suspect it's handling will be safe in much the same way as early Audi Quattros were, but in VXR I believe it's using the latest Haldex AWD system as used in the SAABs, so grip and traction will be there a plenty. Shame is will only be worth about 40% after the first year so if interested best hold off and buy secondhand. |

Thats my biggest problem too. Apart from that this car in its standard form looks brilliant (trust me) so I'm sure this VXR will catch attention on the road. Technology and performance sounds great too!

I'd rock it. Looks much better than the version Chevy is planning on using.

I had this same motor in my Saab 9-3 Aero. Chipped, it was faster than my stock 135i.

+1 wouldn't be surprised if saturn came out with this in the states. They sell the Vauxhall Astra here as the Saturn Astra, and the Aura is basically a sedan version of the Astra. Also, their new Vue is the same as the Antara. I actually wouldn't mind them bringing over the tigra here. It's a nice little convertible hatch. I'd buy one of those over an SLK strictly based on looks.
