i don't get a dime back this year. i owe them a ton of cash actually. apparently, my CPA didn't calculate my quarterly estimated taxes for this past year well enough because i'm thousands short. i also made more money, but whatever. i'm just pissed i have to write the check at all. grr

I am in the same boat...this is the second time that she did this to me...i was ready to do another "paper bonus" in december....but she thought that I was good...she knows that I am not happy...I am into the 6 figures for federal...

so...what are the best strategies for hiding expenses...i really can't hide income...

any CPA's want to weigh in with the dafest way to hide expenses....i would love to make my car payment with 100% deductible pretax money...otherwise..just going to tell the wife to do all our shopping and sam's club and pay the landscaper and lawn guy...

I wouldn't recommend hiding expenses from the IRS. If you don't tell them about it then you can't deduct it. If you want to deduct your car expenses simply go in to business for yourself and use the car primarily for the business (I hear realty is booming! and they alway deduct come car expenses). Some CPAs just suck, hopefully her fees are low, but screwing up ES payments this year was pretty tough considering so few were getting extraordinary bonuses or selling stock at a gain.
