Tire rotation on i5 m60

Does anyone know if tire rotation is covered as scheduled maintenance on the i5? I want to ensure I'm rotating my tires left to right on a regular basis.

You should probably check the specifics of your tires but many have a directional tread to help channel water away from the wheel. I’m not rotating mine. In haven’t rotated tires on a BMW since having staggered setups for the last 13yrs.

If you have staggered tires, the rear are wider than the front. And the tires are directional. So there is no way to rotate them. Except side to side, and removing the tire from the rim in order to jeep the directional rotation correct. This IMHO would defeat the purpose. Lol.

Thanks all, I will check that. I knew the sizes were different but didn't realize they were directional.

My staggered tires are not directional... Directional tires have "Rotation" and an arrow printed on the sidewall.

DI looked at a few OE tires for this car on tire rack and they weren’t directional (they didn’t say it and I couldn’t find the “rotation” and arrow in the picture). I’ve had directional tires before, it’s usually quite obviously marked.

Unless your roads are seriously crowned, I don’t know if rotating side to side is going to help you at all. My feeling is that the money is better spent getting periodic alignments between tire changes.
