Hills and Efficiency

I drove to pick up my dog from daycare and then back home. I drove marginally faster on the way home with better efficiency. I live in a hilly area, but took the same route there and back. I live on a ridge and I do go up a small incline on the way there, but it is slight and maybe 1/4 mile of distance. It’s a big difference in efficiency. Anyone else notice this if you live in an area with hills? It makes me hesitant to traverse the mountain passes in the spring.

I love Lake Stevens! Great area! I’ve done the triathlon there a few times.

Garage List
Yes - no different than when I was driving an ICE powered vehicle to be honest.

If this is your first EV, eventually you wont even look at the usage. It fades away, and you wont even notice. You will start to understand it the more you drive along with knowing where chargers are located. Give it some time.

We live at the top of a crazy STEEP 1 mile hill/road. Going down, I gain 1-2% and my range will easily go up by 10+ miles.

Going up/home....I use at least 3% battery and my range can drop as much as 30 miles!!

EVs + uphill = no bueno
