Heads-up display default layout...
In sport mode heads-up display always defaults to some weird "sport mode" graphics, which I don't like. I keep changing it to "reduced" view but the car does not remember the setting. That means next time I toggle between modes, the heads-up goes back to the default sports view.
Does anyone know how to adjust the heads-up default view? To make it clear, I am not talking about adjusting left\right, up\down, tilt position or brightness of the heads-up display in idrive.

That is interesting. I don't have this issue. I guess my question is whether you have the same BMW ID associated with your drive? Others can comment but I believe it's your BMW ID that saves all your preferences with regards to displays etc... |

I read quite a bit on this topic before I posted here and can't figure it out. Weird. I did have to reboot idrive as driving assistant pro (the 85mph self driving thingy) wasn't kicking in. Now it is. Maybe I'll bounce it again. |

Sport mode does change the heads up display from your default which is stored in personal mode. I only use sport mode when I want to stiffen up the suspension for curvy roads, and I’m not really looking at the HUD for navigation or anything during those drives. When I switch back to personal, my settings are there. |

Pretty sure the only HUD displays you can customize is for personal mode. All the other modes have a default display that it resets to when you enter that mode.

I can confirm that for myself, I have the HUD on minimalist mode and it stays on minimalist mode when I switch driving modes. The only time my HUD switched modes is if I hit the sport paddle to activate 10sec of boost.

I believe there is a setting that turns off the HUD layout changing with drive modes.

Go to heads up display settings and change the setting which makes the HUD change depending on driving modes.

Bounced the idrive for an unrelated hiccup - out of nowhere audio became very choppy no matter the source including the assistant voice.
Both issues solved, audio back to normal and heads-up remembers last picked view. |
