Lucky you.
I was buying the M60 10 days ago, but then my BMW sales told me that BMW Canada forbids them selling the car before the official launch date of the 28th. Now I still have to wait another week for it. |

Also noticed a much improved iPhone key experience compared to my ‘21 M550. The phone now behaves like a fob - keep it in your pocket and the car will Auto Unlock / Lock based on proximity. Better than trying to figure out where to tap on the door handle with the old one.

Reading the manual online, isn’t there a USB-C slot near the cup holders? I’d need to get a new drive (do the same for music as you in my M550 and X5; find it works better than anything else).
As an 2021 M550 driver how who loves the car and is considering buying it, I’ll be following closely your reactions to the M60. I’m thinking about it—even though there are things I think I like a lot less than my car—but my biggest concern is the range. |

Awesome.
What do you mean by the i5 having a better drive compared to the Taycan, if the Taycan drives with precision? |

What is the Taycan range? I don’t commonly do it—but I do travel all around New York State not infrequently. I’ll often get up at dawn in NYC and just drive straight back to the Albany area (where I live). I don’t want to have to worry about finding a fast charging station, etc and delaying trips. Travel to Buffalo, etc also a concern. Went to Rochester and back this week—stopped once for like 10 minutes coming back. NYS Thruway is putting in chargers and if a 10-15 minute charge once or twice on the trip will get me there, maybe I can go for it. But it concerns me. For perspective, I’m the kind of guy that needs to keep my phone charged as much as possible, so…. Ha.

Better pickup on the M60 for sure. The Taycan felt a little too tight / controlled for me. I’m not great at describing driving dynamics but the M60 has been more fun for me to drive.

Oxide Grey Metallic. Here are a few more pics
Glad I didn’t opt for the “20 wheels like on my M550. Ride is much more comfortable and quiet. The adaptive regenerative braking (I think that’s what it is) works very well - it’ll automatically match speed of cars in front of you until you’re at or below their speed. Very happy with it. |

Actually they are there on mine. 2 USB-C ports. They’re kind of hidden though, under the console in the Cup Holder area.

I prefer the Bower’s and Wilkins on my M550. I still have to tune the settings on the M60 but it seems to be a lower grade setup at first glance. I miss all the light up speakers. Was a $3k upcharge on the M550 though. |

Yeah there are the 2 by the cupholder, one on the back of each seat (facing rear passengers), 2 near the rear climate control. The manual seems to indicate only the 2 by the cup holder can be used for data, the rest are power only.

Liking this car more and more as the day goes on. Nice touch with the exterior entry lighting. Rear lights look great too.

Late night thought. Glad I didn’t get the mediocre “massage” seats. They make the seats so uncomfortable with the equipment they have to place. Loving the car

Starting to think about the G60
Starting to think about a G60. My '22 M550ix lease ends exactly 12 months from today, so I have time to decide what to do. Very strong chance I might purchase. Either an i5 M60 or 550e. Unfortunately I was hoping for the M560e PHEV, but apparently it is no longer planned for production. One thing I will not sacrifice moving to a G60 is the rear wheel steering. Hoping to scope out the car "in the metal" here in LA soon, and I know it is odd, but a question I have is if the storage compartment to the left of the steering wheel still there? Haven't seen it in photos and that is where I put my eyeglasses. And from what I have seen, the door bins are much, much smaller. Small things, but important to me. Drive an iX for a few days while my car was in for service. The EV powertrain was fine, no problem with that, but otherwise I really disliked the car. Would never get one. The ergonomics were horrible, and was all the hard plastic on the center console. Overall a huge disappointment and I hope the the G60 didn't get caught up in BMW's quest for more profit and removing content. Like the door sill plates, seatback map pockets, etc.
Oh, and need to update my profile: Currently in the garage are the '22 M550ix and a '20 X3 M40i.

Got mine today too. Love the car so far. One gripe I have is the gear shifter, and lack of a knob. It is awkward to essentially push a button to go from drive to reverse - I very much miss the shifter in the i4. Anyone else have issues with this?
