How to force door open? e38

1997 740iL
My rear passenger door is stuck shut and the actuator doesnt engage.

I got the door panel off and i believe i can see the actuator but i have no idea what i’m supposed to do from here. I tried pushing the lock up but nothing.

You could take off the door panel on the other side and learn how the mechanism works. That’s what I would do. Good luck.
