Looks much better than the cookie-cutter designs of the past three generations from the last two decades. Making it an EV should also improve many areas such as NVH, Acceleration, and general refinement. This may be an Equinox people actually want rather than just loathing it as a rental car.

I love the styling, looks much better than recent BMW EV struggles... But will probably never buy one because of the name, just don't see myself driving an Equinox. Sounds like "econobox".

I agree, looks pretty good. Better than most of what they've got going on currently.
On the other hand... Im not a fan of the new EV Silverado. |

The design language looks good and modern, but as mentioned, an SUV is an SUV.
Agreed on the Silverado, they should have kept it as an Avalanche and gone with something different for their mainstream truck. |

GM can make good vehicles when they set their mind to it as we have seen with the Camaro, Corvette, Blackwings, etc. To me their mass sellers always look like mailed in, uninspired designs inside and out. When I see an Equinox on the road I always think that person driving it is either a tried and true bowtie fan or a person that only cared about getting 4 wheels and a steering wheel for their money. I like this design as it's clean like the Kia EV6 except GM executed the rear end better.

It doesn't have a big grille which is a major separator today. IMO the 90's was peak decade for for automobile design and I like that some of these newer EV's are going back to 90's basics of sleek aerodynamic lines.

From your parking spot to the local fire station...

Hasn’t been announced but said to be ~300miles. One of the interior pics has cluster stating 235miles remaining with 75% charge.
At $30k they have a real competitor. Kinda crazy because the current ICE Equinox starts at $30k. So we are now at the point where EV’s are starting be priced at their ICE equivalent. |

Yup agree, the new EV platform will probably be better than the Bolt. Seems like LG Chem tried to increase production and decrease cost and, cell manufacturing quality suffered a bit. I followed the Bolt from the beginning and none of the first two build years suffered battery fires as I recall. And 16 cars out of 144,000 doesn't seem too problematic, unless one's Bolt is parked in one's attached garage... I find it interesting how the EV industry likes to tout that ICE cars catch fire far more frequently than EV. But the data is never presented broken down as to what is the age of the ICE cars that catch fire and the circumstances that caused the fire (e.g. old fuel hose that spring a leak or high-speed collisions). Outside of BMW's E90, which catches fire while parked because of (a) EGR heater valves and (b) faulty blower motor wiring, most ICE cars don't catch fire while parked. It's quite a different thing when a 3-year old EV has a battery overheat condition and burns your house down...

I like the design, both inside and out. I like the haunch'd/blistered fenders, and the (EV-necessary ) big screen TV is well-integrated into the dash. The headlights look non-functional, but LEDs can work their magic. I see a lot of CX-5 in it, which is a good thing.
