M826 wheels are pain in the butt to clean. Help.
See the picture.
Every time when I thought I was doing great cleaning the wheels, the end result was still bad. How to clean this properly? Thanks in advance.

Just like my outgoing F82 wheels. Never easy, take your time (buy wheel woolies brushes and use a sponge)
Always worth it if you put the time into them

This is after cleaning? What did you do. Need to use a sponge or glove and get in between each spoke. A wheel cleaner spray and rinse isn't going to do it.

1. Wash car and wheels
2. Dry wheels then drive around the block and be heavy on brake to remove rust from rotor 3. dry car 4. touch up the wheel with detail spray and soft cloth

Ps/. Expect the wheels to take twice as long as the car.

Spend some time watching Matt's videos here
https://www.obsessedgarage.com/ The process should be wheels first without getting the car wet, then top of car (roof > hood > trunk), then sides. Do the wheels 1x1 and you need some good ph balanced wheel cleaner and good brushes. |

Completely wash car and rinse but apply snow foam on wheels prior to this. Jet wash wheels to remove foam/surface dirt. Spray ironX or likewise on wheels in a mist like spray (remembering what you can't see still counts) Use wheels woolies large brush to do inner wheel face step by step. Use sponge to run round internal rim behind spokes (a bit awkward, go from spoke to spoke) Spray ironX lightly on sponge and clean each spoke blade inside and out methodically. Clean face of wheels/spokes. Clean wheel bolt recesses. Rinse with high pressure water on every surface. Drive car immediately for a minute or so and brake hard to a stop (while looking behind you 👍 ![]() Rinse wheels and rusty water away but keep clear of brake discs (I used to brake really hard to heat up discs, water evaporates if your quick and you can just rinse as normal) Use damp microfibre cloth and wipe dry wheel going from spoke to spoke inside and out. Last step. Open up a cold bottle of Peroni (bud if in the USA) and contemplate if having factory fresh wheels was worth it 😎

I haven't taken delivery of mine with the 826s on it yet, but currently have wheels with a ton of spokes that constantly get brembo dust caked on them. I've had success with Chemical Guys' citrus wheel cleaner spray, a nice wheel cleaning brush, and a pressure washer. It's the inner barrel of the wheels that I really hate to get in there and clean, not so much the spokes.

Lots of patience, blue paper towel and WD40 once a week. The more weeks you skip, the harder it will be to clean it.

For me, the barrels are the worst part. The wheels arent even clean, to me, unless the barrels and tires are spotless. All of that browning on the tire, is all contamination, and fallout from the suns rays. The sun, and road chemicals, turn the tire brown. I take my wheels off, about once a month, to make sure I get them really good.

Good point. It's pretty gentle and I'm careful with the spray and rise and haven't had an issue on the last few cars
