What brought you to Bimmerpost?

I was thinking the other day about how many people there are, especially the regulars around here on the Off-Topic forum, that have been here for a long time and obviously know each other relatively well (online at least). There's a comradery which is nice, even those like myself that haven't been here that long can see that.

So my question is what originally brought you here to Bimmerpost? I would have to assume it's because of owning a BMW at some point in your life. I do recognize there are some that don't even own one now but hang out here so I find that interesting.

Me personally, I did a random Google search last year to find reviews on certain BMWs including the one I own now and stumbled across this place. I was and am pleasantly surprised at how active this place is. Not only OT, but each of the model-specific forums as well. I don't think I've ever seen another car enthusiast forum that has so much activity day in and day out. Pretty cool.

I was working at a BMW dealer in NJ since about 1995. The local BMW club needed someone to do their member body work right around 2001. They told me to join E46 Fanatics and they would do the rest.....

Those guys on E46 Fan made me more money than I ever dreamt. Then I moved to the Midwest to another BMW dealer but there was no real scene like NJ.

When I got my E93 I was looking for the scene in Florida and ended up joining BP. Then just recently with my F33 I found you guys/girls in Off Topic and latched on to your coat tails.

I don't recall exactly. It was a little before I placed the order for my '16 X6. I must have had a question but I have no idea what it was. I remember looking at BFest too but they didn't have as much traffic as they do here. I was a moderator at another BMW Forum which was was primarily for E53 X5s, so we didn't have much info on the newer generations.

I really didn't participate in OT for the first few years. Then it sucked me in. I've "met" some characters here for sure

Googled "E90" shortly after bought that for my wife. Don't even recall where I heard the term.

I bought an E93 and wanted to learn as much about the car as possible. I stumbled into the OT section one day and was quickly acclimated to the Thunder Dome that it was at that time. I shit post as much as anyone so I added this place to one of my online "homes."

I dig the range of personalities and backgrounds on here. A collective melting pot of the minds here.

back in 04, i had 2004 X3 with halogens lol
i wasnt aware of the famous rings, until i saw similar car with them.
i google to see if there was a way to retrofit them or buy new set of headlights...

I need to find that post. The photo of the imprint of the roundel in my shoulder was painful and hilarious. Kinda. I could have died. It's a shame the roundel bruising eventually went away. As much as I try to be on top of my game, I'm just a transparent idiot that likes to laugh at myself just as much as I laugh at everyone else. I just figure the rest of the world would relish in my reckless, idiotic behavior as well.
