I noticed there are some climbers lurking here, so how about an everything climbing thread.

I got Tension Board holds a month ago, and even the easiest routes are still kicking my ass:

How are you setting the angles for the wall? Is it anchored to the actual wall somehow? I am building out more of a free standing version right now...

I have a winch that does the pulling of the wall, and then hang it on steel cables once the angle is adjusted, plus some safety chains in case all that fails:

That's fricken awesome! Mine will be more budget friendly and free standing.

Got some new locking beaners, a new PAS, some and quick draws during a Labor Day sale.

Have you seen this? https://grasshopperclimbing.com/coll...-climbing-wall

That concept seems DIYable.

Where do you plan on using the draws - does Iowa have lots of climbing or farther away? I've only been to Pictured Rocks there.

Pictured rocks is about the extent around here but I have a climbing group that takes trips every month or so. Horseshoe in Arkansas is the next trip. We also go north and there is decent climbing up there too. And then of course Utah is awesome.

That looks nice but it's going to be in my friends oversize garage (rental property) so it can't be anchored to the cement or wall and needs to be free standing.

The Ninja grasshopper design is a freestanding wall. I've seen similar designs at small gyms, but that one seems a little better thought out.

When I look at their YouTube videos it shows a winch on the wall to raise and lower it... there is no way those small legs with wheels are holding it at all those angles unless I missed something.

Are you talking about the winch seen at 12:08 here:
? If so, then yeah, that'll be useful for adjusting angle. You could do without by using chains at the bottom and clipping into particular link after manually changing angle (which would almost certainly require 2 people), but why complicate life - those manual winches are cheap - 1 ton winch on amazon is $45.

This is what ur free standing unit ended up as (not shown are the chains for added security).

This is before any paint or setting many holds but shows both a 30 deg and 45 deg option.

Which reminds me - climbing Eye of Odin at Flatanger is an absurd dream of mine.

Heading to Horseshoe in Arkansas this weekend for some climbing fun. Hoping for good weather! I'll post some pics when I get back.

Nice! I'm in RRG for the month - getting acclimated to steepness again having not done any rope climbing since Feb.

With the quarantine I've been stuck just doing home training and hitting my friends home bouldering wall a few times a week. We've headed up to Austin to do some lead but with everyone hitting Greenbelt so hard all the routes are pretty glassed up.

Typical Friday night, wings and some bouldering topped off with some brews although a pre-bouldering beer may or may not have happened before.
