Thoughts on this Range Rover? Mileage too high?

Is the mileage too high? It depends on your goals for this vehicle. Will it be your daily driver, or a weekend/fun car?
It's a 5 year old, high performance vehicle nearing 100k miles, that is out of manufacturer's warranty. High power engines (500hp) have expensive parts that are sometimes not easy to source, even from the dealer, because they are made in comparatively low volume. The AJ133 engine is shared with Jaguar vehicles under Tata's corporate ownership. Do some research on overall reliability. Also read up on the Mercedes AMG M278 engine in the GL63, ML63, GLE63 and other vehicles. Also read about the BMW N63 V8 engine in the X5 and other vehicles. Lots of fun, but can be expensive. I would not buy this car as a daily driver. You may choose differently. |

In general, Range Rovers have not been the most reliable vehicles but if you want to go off roading, they are one of the best. |

if you re not willing to spend some money on the engine before things start to create problems, the answer is yes.. if you do, then no..

You should check out Doug Demuro's series of videos on his Land Rover experience. I don't remember exactly how much money in repairs had to be done on his car, but I seem to recall something on the order of $26k. Fortunately for him, most of it was paid off by the CarMax warranty he wisely purchased with the car.

If you're going to consider getting a RR, get one with a great warranty. I have a few friends who have SVRs granted different models but they've broken many driveshafts. Another blew his engine just driving around normally(Not an SVR).
They're good looking cars that's for sure, but personally I wouldn't touch one without a warranty.

We literally almost got that exact model and color for my wife a month ago! It would have been a lease of course. But after spending time behind this and the X5 xDrive50i (new/2019 and preowned), she agreed with me that the X5 was more to her liking inside and out and driving. We also came close to leasing a new X5 but I put my detective skills to work scouring the land and came across a 2yr lease return with low miles that we purchased. Saving over $45k in the process. Win-Win!
Now I'm not gonna hate. The RR has superb "road presence"! It is why it considered by most to be the sexiest/nicest looking SUV on the road today. But I am of the belief that for a vehicle, looks MUST be more than skin deep. Neighbor has a 2019 Sort in White over Saddle. Beautiful automobile no question. The Bimmer edges it out IMO in ride comfort and interior layout and is still sexy to boot.
