The coveted end spot
So, I'm out shopping this weekend. I pull into the lot and identify the "spot". An end of course, and back in as close to the curb/divider as possible. As I'm getting out, a 750 pulls into the same spot across from me. We both get out, give each other the nod and start grinning. I say to him "Ahhh, the coveted end spot and we both laugh. His wife was like "What is with all you BMW people, you're all the same". On the long walk to the store, we discussed our perfect spots and how even if you park over the river and through the hills, it never fails that some asshole will park right next to you over the line. His wife turns around and says "I'm that asshole". It was pretty funny....

Totally agree with you on that. I'll park far away and when I come back I'll normally see another BMW or high end car close to me in the back. It does as well piss off the Mrs why we park so far back.

Same here. I equate this with most BMW (or luxury car/people who take pride in their purchases) being forward thinkers. I'd rather walk a few extra steps and prevent possible damage to something I take pride in based off assholes who care nothing about their property or others for that matter.

the best is when some miracle of layout and landscaping creates one spot that sits on its own, without any adjacent spots.
there is one at my Total Wine, and another in the parking garage i park in when i go to the beach. i of course think of these as my own personal parking spots, and get annoyed when someone else parks in MY spot |

My wife is totally fine parking way away from others. She flat out refuses to park near a cart coral.

The gf really enjoys driving around in multi level parking structures until I find a corner spot as well.

i'm not a believer that a corner spot is always the best spot either. a lot of them are in the high pedestrian traffic areas where people can bump into your car, flick boogers on it, etc.
and of course, forget about corner spots that are corner spots because they are adjacent to a disabled parking spot... |

Thanks for all the comments. The funniest part of the encounter was his wife saying she was the asshole that parks over the line on top of us.

I have actually driven into a shopping mall, could not find a spot that was even reasonably safe, so I left.
My wife understands me. |

My wife just rolls her eyes at me as we journey around parking lots and garages. In search of the oh so important end spot! If I can’t find one you can bet we are walking the extra mile, as I park out in the boonies near no one...lol
