Who’s Downloading their Facebook Data?

Who all has downloaded their Facebook data?

Slow day in the office today, so I've had some time to go through mine, and I've got to say, pretty boring stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary that I thought they would have on me. Don't even have the right home address lol.

I'm downloading all my google data now. I'm guessing that will be a little more interesting...

Who puts their home address on Facebook? I'd suggest not posting that information (even if it isn't current) or phone numbers.

I think you still can.

for google, go to "My Account -> Personal Info and Privacy" and its in there. Mine was ~20GB and has data going all the way back to 2012 when I got my 1st android phone and got a gmail account.

Has everywhere I have been with my phone, how i got there, everything ive searched, etc. Even has all the recordings from my Google Home or anytime youve used talk to text or any "Hey Google" commands.

How do you download said data from FB? I recently checked out the settings to see what political affiliation they had me set as and whatnot, but they didn't even have that set for me and most things people complained about were missing (much of what was there got deleted by me afterwards).

Go to: https://www.facebook.com/settings when you're logged in. Down at the bottom there's a "Download a copy of your Facebook data" link.

Mine is full of stupid observations and memes and there's nothing for me there.

Everything you ever put into Facebook was saved by Facebook at one point or another. As soon as you signed up and checked the box saying you agree to the terms and conditions, Facebook had you.

Yes, they've dialed it back a decent amount (what they save on you) and give the user more options, however, that has only been in recent months and years. Most Americans have had Facebook for a long time, long before Facebook dialed things back, therefore their data is now a statistic and is part of the multi-billion dollar BIG DATA industry.

It's a good thing your phone number isn't required for an account now. Or that if any of your friends incorrectly set up Messenger it will upload all of the contacts including yours to Facebook.

Not sure how many listen to Zuck at Capital Hill. He admitted and none of the idiots followed up, Facebook has shadow accounts on users this is information you cannot see. It is not clear if everyone has one and what all is contained in the shadow accounts. He just said they do exist.
